This policy explains, in plain English, what The Cleaning Lab collects, why, and how to ask us to delete it. It applies to thecleaninglab.com, our booking flow, and any direct email or phone contact with us.
What we collect
- Contact information — name, address, phone number, and email so we can schedule cleans and follow up.
- Service information — property type, size, scope notes, access instructions, and preferences you tell us.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store full card numbers.
- Website analytics — page views, referrer, and basic device info, used to improve the site. No third-party ad tracking.
Why we collect it
- To schedule, deliver, and confirm cleans.
- To send booking confirmations, receipts, and the occasional service email (you can opt out at any time).
- To improve how the website works.
- To respond to questions or applications you send us.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share only with:
- Our payment processor (Stripe), for transactions.
- Our internal scheduling and CRM tools, accessed by Cleaning Lab employees only.
- Law enforcement, if legally required.
How long we keep it
We keep customer records as long as the relationship is active, then for up to 24 months for accounting and warranty purposes. Job applicants' records are kept for 12 months unless hired.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time. Email privacy@thecleaninglab.com and we'll confirm within seven business days.
Cookies
We use a single first-party analytics cookie to count visits. We don't use third-party ad cookies, social pixels, or session-replay tools.
Children
The Cleaning Lab is a service for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for 30 days.
