What Is Included in a Move-Out Cleaning?

A move-out cleaning is a top-to-bottom clean of an empty home — inside cabinets, drawers, and appliances, baseboards and doors, fixtures, switch plates, windows and tracks, and full floor care — built to pass a landlord's walk-through or hand a buyer a spotless home. At The Cleaning Lab it's called Move Preparation.
A move-out clean is the most thorough service in cleaning — because it's the one where every cabinet is opened and every corner is judged, usually by someone holding your deposit.
What Move Preparation includes
An empty home means nothing is off-limits, so everything is in scope:
- Kitchen — inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers, inside the oven and refrigerator, range hood degreased, sink descaled and polished, all surfaces and backsplash detailed
- Bathrooms — full sanitization, tile and grout detail, descaled fixtures and shower glass, inside vanities and medicine cabinets, exhaust vents dusted
- Every room — baseboards, door frames and doors, switch plates and outlet covers wiped, vents dusted, closet shelving and rods wiped, window sills and tracks cleaned, cobwebs cleared corner to corner
- Floors — vacuumed edge-to-edge and mopped throughout, including inside closets
- Final pass — a spot-check against the scope, so the home shows the way an inspection expects
The deposit checklist landlords actually use
Vegas property managers walk the same route every time. The items that most often cost renters their deposit:
- Inside the oven — the single most-checked item on any walk-through
- Inside the refrigerator (and behind it, if accessible)
- Shower glass and grout — hard-water film reads as "never cleaned" even when it's mineral, not dirt
- Cabinet interiors — crumbs in drawers photograph badly on an inspection report
- Window tracks — the classic "they didn't really clean" tell
- Baseboards and door tops — dust lines that say "surface clean only"
Every one of those is standard scope in Move Preparation — not an add-on.
Move-out vs. deep clean — which one do I need?
A deep clean is built for a lived-in home: it works around your belongings. A move-out clean assumes empty (or nearly), which is what makes inside-everything scope possible. If you're cleaning to hand back keys or hand over keys, you want Move Preparation; if you're staying, you want the Detailed Reset.
Built around a deadline
Move cleans are almost always tied to a hard date — lease end, closing, final walk-through. We schedule accordingly and confirm your date in writing. The clean should be the last thing that happens after the movers, the painters, and the patch-and-touch-up are done. End-of-month slots fill fastest in Las Vegas, so book 7–10 days ahead when you can.
Renters, sellers, and agents
For renters, the goal is a walk-through with nothing to point at — and a deposit that comes back whole. For sellers and agents, it's handing over a home that closes cleanly, often paired with our real estate listing services. Either way: get a flat-rate quote for your move date, or call (725) 765-2233.
